Here is a brief video introducing how to make an appointment with a student in Google Meet.
The process is roughly as follows.
Click in your schedule when you want to make the appointment (be careful not to click on a lesson). Give students 24 hours' notice.
Give the appointment a title, including your name and the name of the student.
Set the length of the appointment to 15 minutes
Double check that there is a Google Meet button (if not, click to add one)
Press "Save"
Post a ClassCharts announcement to the student, notifying them of the day/time. You should use the text below.
Simply ensure you are logged into Google using your school account and go to https://meet.google.com and click the meeting title!
Ensure that you camera and microphone work on your device and you are in a quiet room
Click "Join" a minute or so before the scheduled start and begin recording (three dots in the bottom right).
Be aware of your background; you should blur it if you're at home
Remember to record attendance as required by your school, and to raise any relevant concerns.
Finally, ensure that you leave the meeting last!
